Secrets for Removing 5 Tough Holiday Stains

The Stain ~ The Fix:
Lipstick/Grease/Oil ~ Rub baking soda, cornstarch, or washing soda into the stain. Let sit for 20 minutes, then brush it off.
Crayons/Candle wax ~ Freeze the wax and pull it off; or use hot iron to melt wax into a cotton rag
Blood ~ Soak in cold salt water, or douse with club soda
Coffee/Tea ~ Soak stain in vinegar before washing
Wine, Fruit juice stains ~ Blot immediately with club soda or cold water. Before laundering, pour boiling water with a paste of baking soda and water and let sit for 30 min

- Brighten your silver by scrubbing it with a paste of baking soda and water or white toothpaste
- Clean your brass, bronze, or copper with a rub of sliced lemon sprinkled with baking soda, then buff with a soft cloth. Vinegar and salt solution also works.
- Chrome and stainless steel shines after scrubbing with a paste of baking soda and a squirt of eco-friendly dish detergent, or spray with vinegar and polish with a soft cloth.
