Rebuild Sustainability: Gehry-Tannen ModGun

bob-tannen-gallery-004On Wednesday, June 17 at 10AM, local artist and urban planner Robert Tannen of Creative Industry, world renowned architect Frank Gehry and green building advocacy group Global Green USA will unveil the designs for the
“Gehry-Tannen Modgun,” an innovative, modular version of the traditional New Orleans shotgun which was created for affordability, sustainability and
compatibility within the local neighborhoods and historic districts.

The presentation will be held at 10 a.m. on the 6th ward vacant site at Ursuline
Avenue and North Rocheblave Street which has been selected as the proposed
site for the construction of the first full-sized model Modgun. Through the
combined efforts of Tannen, Gehry, Global Green USA and an unprecedented
team of local designers and developers including the projects’ lead
development partner Hal Brown of Fortuné LLC, Ray Manning, CEO of Manning
Architects, APAC, architect Joel Ross and builder Chris Meehan, the
completed 6th ward Modgun will be an example of an accessible, replicable
solution to contemporary housing, preservation, ecological and rebuilding
issues facing New Orleans citizens. Additional sites are identified in the 6th, 7th and 8th wards of New Orleans.
